A Day-long Seminar to Commemorate Half a Century since the Philosopher’s Death
Organisation : Ondra Kvapil, Département de Philosophie de l’ENS-PSL
Présentation
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Heidegger’s death this May, we are delighted to invite you to a day-long seminar dedicated to a close reading of his seminal text on The Thing (Das Ding, in: Vorträge und Aufsätze, GA 7). The lecture from 1949/50 offers the first public exposition of the concept of the fourfold of earth, sky, divinities, and mortals, or in other words, Heidegger’s attempt at the non-metaphysical concept of world that is thought in terms of being itself. The seminar will take place in the Salle Pasteur at the Department of Philosophy on the day of the anniversary, that is, on Tuesday, the 26th of May, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
